The Mogami River shipping route ensured that Nagai flourished as a commercial city. By walking around, you can relive traces of this history.
The merchant buildings from this time are now specified as a Yamagata historical landmark. In spring, you can also find a great view of the MogamiRiver and the Senbon sakura from the harbor.
